Fast Ethernet media converters convert 100Base-FX to 100Base-TX and vice versa. Simply plug-in the cables. These units convert media without adding delay to the network making use of state-of-the-art integrated circuits and surface-mount technology. Consequently they do not impact the repeater budget of Fast Ethernet. Is a two port converter with a RJ45 100Base-TX port on one side and a SC-type Fiber Optic on the other side.The is essentially the same device expect that the fiber optic connector is the ST-type. Both converts support a 100Base-TX transmission range up to 100 meters over Category 5 unshielded twisted pair cable. Both SC-type and ST-type Fiber Optic converters support a transmission range of 2km (full Duplex) and 400 meters (half duplex), duplex 50/125, 62.5/125 and 100/140 Fiber Optic cable. The converters both support auto-negotiate half or full duplex operation.
