WHAT IS OTDR?

An Optical Time Domain Reflectometer is a test and measurement device used to check the
accuracy of fusion splices and the location of fiber optic breakers. It measures the send
and return time of a lightwave pulse.

Laser Precision Hand Held OTDR

 

 

 

All the features of a mainframe OTDR are found in these portable test sets at
half the price. These Mini-OTDRs let you test fiber optic cable with the touch
of a finger. Simply press the TEST or FAULT LOCATE button and you'll
perform a complete test in less than one minute. All information is displayed:
length of fiber, end of fiber, number of features found, loss for each event, total
loss, and reflectance of each event. No special training needed. The TD-1000
series also has Optical Return Loss (ORL) capability with signal and gain control.
